EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT AUTONOMY

The question of daily autonomy, whether on short or long journeys, arises in the choice of an electric vehicle.

The autonomy of our vehicles is given according to the WLTP cycle (Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedures). This approved value may vary depending on different factors: discover the information that will allow you to better understand and better enjoy the electric driving experience.

YOUR DRIVING AND OTHER FACTORS IMPACT RANGE

speed

At 130km/h, the range of a 100% electric vehicle is divided by 2 compared to the range approved WLTP.

Superchargers are available along the motorway network to allow you to quickly regain autonomy during a coffee break or lunch: up to 80% in 30 minutes (depending on vehicles, supercharger 100kW).

temperature

Climatic conditions and their consequences: need to warm the cabin, to cool it have an impact on the battery life.

Use thermal preconditioning when the vehicle is charging to start at the right temperature and optimize range.

THE DRIVING STYLE

Your driving style impacts the range of your vehicle.

Choose a smooth ride to optimize it.

transported load

Driving with accessories on the roof or with a large load weight will affect the consumption of your vehicle.
SIMULATE THE AUTONOMY OF YOUR VEHICLE
You can evaluate the range of Citroën electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles based on speed, driving style and temperature. As an example, simulate the autonomy of the ë-C4 Electric.

ADOPT ECO-DRIVING

Drive smoothly

By driving smoothly, you avoid overconsumption of energy. Anticipate braking and deceleration, limit jerking. On expressways, adapt your speed to the maximum, high speeds quickly reducing the autonomy of your car.

Precondition your vehicle

Take advantage of charging times to pre-condite your car without impacting its charging level. This way you limit the energy consumption of the air conditioning or heating systems when driving.

Use brake mode

Use as soon as you can your engine brake instead of the brake pedal. This will allow your electric or hybrid vehicle to recharge its battery during braking and deceleration.

Watch the tyres

Beyond your safety, it is essential to ensure that the tires of your vehicle are in good condition and well inflated to optimize energy consumption.
